But the behaviour of their supporters could land them in trouble, as they hurled objects on to playing surface before the match and unfurled a banner which read: “€100? Is your gr€€d [sic] now finally $atisfied?” UEFA confirmed on Thursday that the charges levelled against Bayern are for the “throwing of objects” and an “illicit banner”....

The UEFA Nations League is an attempt by UEFA to address those concerns. The footballing body took a long time to think about it, and the result that came out consists of a league format which will have incentives for teams taking it seriously. All European countries are divided into leagues based on their UEFA ranking, so there are fewer chances of matches between two unevenly matched sides which was so often the case with the qualifiers....

Hearing White’s news, Brian Ortega wants his shot at the featherweight championship and at this point, he doesn’t care who is standing across from him. “From what I’m getting now, they said that Max might not fight for a long time, and he might not even fight 145,” Ortega said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. ”So I told them then, make the belt vacant and then I’ll fight whoever you guys want me to fight ASAP....

Adesanya passed the exam with ease, running through Brunson to win by knockout at 4:51 of the first round. The end came when Adesanya connected on a high kick and dropped Brunson with a left hand. Brunson got back up to his feet and wanted more. Adesanya obliged by blasting the North Carolina native with a blistering straight right hand to knock him down to the canvas and referee Herb Dean immediately stopped the action....

UEFA announced Friday that Frappart, who refereed the Women’s World Cup final between the United States and the Netherlands last month, will officiate the clash between the Champions League and Europa League winners in Istanbul on Aug. 14. McGregor, the UFC featherweight champion, will be paid $1 million for this much anticipated welterweight showdown, the Nevada Athletic Commission has disclosed. Multiple sources have confirmed to Sporting News that the co-main event between champion Nicco Montano and Valentina Shevchenko has been canceled. A source has told SN that Montano was sent to the hospital due to an issue with her weight cut. ESPN initially reported the fight was scrapped. The UFC released a statement confirming the cancellation of the title fight. “As a precautionary measure, UFC flyweight Nicco Montaño was transported to a medical facility Friday morning due to health concerns,” the UFC said in a statement released to SN....
