MORE: Week 10 picks

News that Rosen’s 2016 season may be in jeopardy was first reported Monday.

A potential Heisman candidate who graced the cover of Sports Illustrated before the season, Rosen was expected to lead the Bruins to the Pac-12 championship game this year. But his team stumbled to a 3-5 (1-4) start, with only mediocre play from Rosen.

The sophomore completed 59 percent of his pass attempts for 1,915 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions in six games.

Rosen was injured during a 23-20 loss to Arizona State on Oct. 8, paving the way for former walk-on Mike Fafaul to start the previous two games for the Bruins. Fafaul has thrown eight touchdowns and six interceptions during his two starts. The senior quarterback set a school record with 70 passing attempts in the Bruins’ 52-45 loss to Utah on Oct. 22.
